The Week of Discovering European Cemeteries 2025 in Rijeka was dedicated to 15 former mayors of Rijeka and Sušak buried at Kozala and Trsat cemeteries.
The WDEC in Rijeka began on Monday, 26 May 2025, at Kozala Cemetery with the opening of the photo exhibition "The City and Mayors of Rijeka and Sušak" by Petar Fabijan. The exhibition highlights 15 former mayors and city leaders from Rijeka and Sušak whose graves are located at Kozala and Trsat cemeteries.
A musical performance by students of the Ivan Matetić Ronjgov Music School set the tone for the evening, followed by a guided tour led by art historian Daina Glavočić and professor of fine arts Theodor de Canziani, offering insights into the historical and artistic value of the site.
The program continued on Wednesday, 28 May 2025, at Trsat Cemetery, where visitors explored additional graves included in the exhibition.
